Buddha Eyes Gau with Leather Accessories

A gau is a Tibetan Buddhist amulet, used for carrying and preserving powerful sacred objects.

The eyes of the Buddha have been set in a turquoise backdrop that forms the front surface of this opening copper amulet. Kalachakra is embossed on the back. A leather strap for wearing around the neck and a stitched leather accessory for keeping the gau closed is also included. This is a nomadic and rustic style gau.
